About Steady Goods
Steady Goods Mission:
Steady Goods is a hyper-local, community-sourced ecommerce platform that serves creators whose businesses have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic. At launch, all goods will be created by New York City makers, manufacturers and artists. 15% of all profits will go directly back into the community in the form of COVID-19 financial relief.
Steady Goods is helmed by Nicholas Rhodes, founder of OutSnapped.com and Brooklyn Navy Yard tenant. Amidst the noise, he saw the need to create Steady Goods and pivot his event photography business to focus on his community's needs. OutSnapped will use their automated photography platform to photograph portraits of the New York City creators and their products.
Inspired by Our Community
Steady Goods is a proud tenant of the Brooklyn Navy Yard.
Established in 1801, the Brooklyn Navy Yard served as America's premier naval shipbuilding facility for 165 years, and launched America’s mightiest warships, including the USS Monitor, the USS Arizona, and the USS Missouri. Peak activity occurred during World War II, when some 70,000 people worked at the Yard. The Yard was in continuous operation until 1966, when it was decommissioned and then sold to the City of New York.
The spirit of innovation continues on the 300-acre site, where the Yard is undergoing its largest expansion since WWI.
As we enter this new era, the yard finds itself once again fighting a war. This time, the enemy is COVID-19. Many tenants have taken the initiative to start manufacturing hospital gowns, face masks, and medical equipment.
We hope that you will join our community by showing your support for NYC's local creators facing the new world of COVID-19. Join us and help uplift local small businesses.
